CommunityWe recognise that our quarrying activities can have an impact on our neighbours. We make every effort to minimise them through a number of quarrying techniques, such as using specially silenced hydraulic breakers to replace the explosives previously used for extraction. The visual impact of our workings has been reduced through creating grassed screening banks and planting hedges and trees. Land is restored progressively at our quarry in Naunton so that it can quickly be returned to agriculture. Here, we also have constructed and landscaped a quarry underpass to eliminate disruption to traffic on the public highway. A good relationship with our neighbours is important to Huntsmans and we regularly open our gates to local residents for open days and school visits.
