Concrete

Our concrete operation goes hand in hand with the quarry business and improves the range of products and services we can offer to local customers. We supply predominately within a 15-mile radius of our quarry in Naunton, near Stow-on-the-Wold. The concrete is third party quality assured (QSRMC).

Because we are a small company, we do not use a distant call centre and so have been able to maintain personal contact with customers.

An all-weather sports pitch for The Cotswold School and Primary School at Bourton-on-the-Water was one of the first projects to benefit from the area's only ready-mixed concrete plant, built in 2004.

Customers can collect their own concrete or have it delivered by Huntsmans' vehicles. Appropriately, another Cotswold company, Mix-UK of Tetbury, has supplied the new plant, which has an output of 60m³ per hour. The state-of-the-art technology includes provision for recycling of water, using tanks supplied by Oil Tank Supplies of Moreton-in-Marsh.

The plant has created five new jobs and expanded Huntsmans' workforce to nearly 50, the great majority of them local people.
