Restored Lake

Environment

Hunstmans Quarry, Naunton
Huntsmans operates in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We accept a responsibility to minimise the impact of our work on the environment and on our neighbours in the local community.

Meticulous planning and strict management disciplines are applied to control impacts on a day-to-day basis.

Restoration of land previously quarried is an area in which we recognise an opportunity not just to give back but, where appropriate, to create exciting new environments and habitats. We are proud to have won two awards for the quality of our restoration. We acknowledge the significant help and encouragement we receive from local authorities, nature conservation bodies and individuals.

So far, Huntsmans has:

  • restored over 200 acres of land
  • planted 10,000 trees
  • planted 6,500 shrubs
  • created 2km of hedgerow
  • created a wildlife lake from old quarry workings.
