The safety of our employees and of those who visit our sites is our top priority. As a member of the British Aggregate Association (BAA), our quarrying activities are part of a national initiative that has achieved a reduction of 65 per cent reduction in reportable injuries over the five years to the end of 2009. With its fellow quarry operators, Huntsmans is now working hard towards a target of zero accidents.

Our efforts were rewarded by the MPA with a trophy for the small company with the most outstanding health and safety performance at the industry’s annual awards in 2005.

We are actively supporting the website www.safequarry.com and DVD designed to share health and safety ideas and knowledge across the industry.

There is also a new interactive online game which aims to communicate the dangers of trespassing in quarries to young people. www.quarryrescue.com
